A cold summer turned to a cold fall here,
no place for a spring goldfinch
looking for news from the sun.

The blog carnival for bird lovers, I and the Bird, is celebrating its 100th edition. Nice to see them give Wild Light the “House Sparrow to the Death Award” for my last post, Chance meeting. Check out all the other winners at the Nature Blog Network.
I’m exhibiting my bird photographs and paintings at Heron Festival at Michigan’s Kensington Metropark, near Milford/Brighton, Saturday and Sunday.

It finally looks and feels like spring here, stormy and unsettled.
A spring squabble between this goldfinch couple was soon over, their reconciliation unrecorded.

The bickering of birds is always entertaining, and this colorful goldfinch couple reconciled soon after with an unrecorded embrace.
