The aftermath of a skirmish over a seed,
a pair of finches bicker throughout the morning,
the loser falling away,
ready to fight again.

It finally looks and feels like spring here, stormy and unsettled.

       A spring squabble between this goldfinch couple was soon over, their reconciliation unrecorded.

A game of tag or something more serious? Two female finches rush past me in a backyard chase.

Finches often come to feed late, waiting perhaps for more solitude, buoyed by a sudden wind.

Okay, this finch image from last summer is crying out for a caption, but I can’t think of one. I need some help. So I’m having a caption contest similar to what the New Yorker magazine does on their last page.
