Summer Tails Day Camp

A short while ago I did a presentation for the Michigan Humane Society Summer Tails Day Camp at the Detroit Center for Animal Care, and had a great time.

I arrived early and improvised a makeshift screen from the backs of a old planning calendar.

The kids were curious about the identity of the creatures I photograph, and seemed to appreciate that invertebrates are important and deserve our compassion, and were amazed at the varied colors and shapes and behaviors of the insects and birds I projected.

A fun day. Below are two racing sparrows from my slide show.
