Sideways peek

Barely twenty four hours into her new life, a tiny praying mantis nymph, about the size of my little fingernail, peeks out sideways behind a small yellow bloom.

I never saw her again, hope she was able to survive to adulthood.

What's the common life-span for a praying mantis? How likely was this little lady to reach, say, a month of life?

  • Rick said:

The entire life span of a praying mantis is about a year, adults average about six months, perhaps more in captivity.

This will vary depending on the species.
