Lovecraft dreams
Category: Books | Art, Insects etc.H.P. Lovecraft must have been impressed with spiders. In ‘The Shadow Out of Time‘ (published 1936) arachnids are the last life left on the planet.
Here’s another quote from that story: “After man there would be the mighty beetle civilisation, the bodies of whose members the cream of the Great Race would seize when the monstrous doom overtook the elder world.”
Speaking of Lovecraft . . . I recently watched a short film adapted from “The Call of Cthulhu”. It was released in 2005, but shot to look like an old “Expressionist” silent film. In fact, there is no dialogue on audio, just a spooky soundtrack. Despite what must have been a small budget, it’s an impressive little film that strives to capture the spirit of Lovecraft’s famous story.
Sounds cool, Kris. I’ll have to watch it. I’m glad they tried a more minimal approach.
