Tiny high-wire act
A tiny high-wire act in a backyard circus,

no nets in the microwilderness.

Its eye is really eye-catching.
Another wonderful shot and I wonder how you manage to catch the little critters doing what they do?
Thanks Patty and Michael. I never know what to expect when I walk out the door.
Rick, where do you go to insect-observe & photograph?
Is your backyard, or other places, too? From insect POV it all looks like a huge forest…
Good question Robert. Believe it or not, most of it is from my own, very ordinary, backyard.
Most of the insects, and all of the birds. I’d like to expand it all over the planet, we’ll see.
The world in a grain of sand, indeed.
Great. I love the diagonal
and the colors are beautiful.
Thanks Bogdan. Another act in my backyard circus.
Species: clock-work toy, gender neutral. Sorry for teasing Rick.
Well not really. =0)
Tease away, Amy. I can see it as a wind-up toy, great idea!
is this a potato beetle?? . . . maybe? . . . Hmmmm . . .
Good call, Diane. I’m pretty sure it is a potato beetle.
Thanks! . . . lucky guess . . .
It is a wonderful shot! You really know how to make these little fellas look good.
Thanks Diane. I believe this is a Colorado potato beetle, Leptinotarsa decemlineata.
