Haunted by Gahan

There is a fifth dimension beyond that known to man.

Using her imagination as the key,
only one cat has unlocked this door.
A middle ground between light & shadow,
between science & superstition,
it lies at the pit of our fears.
This dimension of grotesquerie is an area
which we call “The Gahan Wilson Zone”.

Sophie continues to be haunted by her journey
into this malformed & uncanny land.

If you haven’t read “Space-Time for Springers” by Fritz Leiber (available here), you might like to. Sophie was fortunate to escape unscathed.

Leiber is wonderful. I’ve got the original Star anthology with that story, with a cover by the great Richard Powers.

I don’t believe Sophie escaped unscathed.

Let’s say less scathed than Gummitch, then. Although she does carry ghosts in her eyes.

What a looker! Green eyes, I can almost hear the purrs.

And well read too! The world of a cat, so elusive. Nice moment: from wings and things to four legs, all are picture worthy. NICE!!

Rick, that’s a cat author photo if I ever saw one. I’d for sure buy that kitteh’s book.

Eileen, of course you know that’s my Sophie? She’s going to be a whole year old February 3rd, so everyone can wish her a happy birthday.

Thank you Rick for her birthday gift (to me 🙂 )

Ellen: in “The Gahan Wilson Zone”, she’s always a kitten!

Ellen, of course I know that’s your Sophie. Clearly, she was raised on literature, and may even have helped edit a few anthologies towards the end of the year. Plus, her photo was all over the Times Book Review this week. I think _Greenwich Village, Though a Cat’s Eye!_ is a sure Pulitzer contender. Bring her to the Locus Awards.

Sophie is a Zen Master. She is able to accept the weird for what it is. The Cat is a picture of serenity in a wild world.
