Christmas candy
Received an amusing gift (Thanks, Deb!) of insect candy today. I’ll probably eat some tomorrow.
Crickets and Darkling beetle larvae (meal worms) seem to be used the most.
Anybody care to comment on their insect-eating adventures?
The faux-amber package below is Amber InsectNside, and other image is from the Larvets package.

See the world’s oldest bee in amber.

Yikes – I didn't mean for you to EAT it, but if you do . . . let us know if it is really great “party food”!!!
I ate the Larvets today in an omelet, Deb. Not bad, if I didn’t know it was larvae, I probably wouldn’t think twice. (Don’t think twice, it’s alright?)
LARVETS sounds like semi-depressing Britfood. If I didn’t know it was larvae, I still wouldn’t eat it.
Strange food for strange times, Strangefeather.
While I was in basic training in the Army, my mother (the practical joker) sent me a care package with cookies and a package of chocolate covered baby bumble bees. They were pretty much like eating Hershey’s Crackle.
We all taste better covered in chocolate.
Holiday Memories: my father once put chocolate covered insects out at a Christmas party and didn’t tell anyone until after they were eaten.
Everyone probably thought the chocolate was great until they found out what was in it, Al.
