Whisper in the Woods

Although I haven’t seen it yet, the spring issue of Whisper in the Woods is just out, and features a large selection of my wildlife photography, including the fearless wasp below on the front cover.

The magazine has showcased many excellent photographers, including Jim Brandenburg and Carl Sams. If you get a copy, let my know if you have a favorite image.

Vanishing of the Bees

I’ll be participating in a fundraiser on January 27 (in Los Angeles) for the documentary “The Vanishing of the Bees”, a feature-length documentary about the implications of the world wide honeybee disappearance.

My bee art will be exhibited, and I’m donating part of the sale price to the fundraiser, as well as any print orders mentioning the film and fundraiser.

More information can be found at Project Butterfly.

Slideshow recap

My Aerial Acrobats slideshow at the Royal Oak Nature Society last night was fun and had me talking much more than usual. The room was crowded and there were many questions.

I went through close to a hundred bird images, many new and seen for the first time. I showed several large prints, and sold smaller prints, maybe for Christmas presents.

There was much discussion on the habits of backyard birds, and how best to attract specific species.

I’ll be showing some of the new work on my blog in the coming months, and will be regularly changing the work on my bird website, CloudBoxer.com. I’m hoping to do many more of these presentations in the future.

Avian acrobats slideshow

I’ll be presenting a slideshow of my bird images at 7:30 pm this Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the Royal Oak Nature Society’s December meeting.

The location is the Royal Oak Community Center at 3500 Marais, Royal Oak MI, just north of 13 Mile Road, between Crooks and Main.

Here’s a map.

I’ll be showing quite a bit of new work, and have some large prints on display. If you can make it, please introduce yourself.
