Remarkable. The cat appears only intermittently real in the rain, as if slipping between this world and others as it walks. One way to dodge raindrops, I suppose.

Knowing this cat, maybe it’s slipping between the raindrops.

Looks like a kitten to me - is this a cat that you know?

I know this cat well, his name is Puzzle and is five now, but was just a kitten when this was done. Originally this was to be the cover of a Newbery Honor book I was working on, but this image ended up not being used. Too bad, I think it would have sold many books. The title “Vanishing Breeze” is really appropriate, Puzzle was never weaned properly, and is never seen by strangers.

Beautiful. Like my dreams-My late cat Lucky slips in and out of my memory. Always present but hidden…

I’m sort of glad I’m not haunted by the many cats I’ve owned over the decades; I’d have no room to move my feet around in bed when I toss and turn at night. I do miss them, though. The one in this picture sort of reminds me of an old friend’s cat named Dimly Perceived, or Dimly for short, but he was gray.

Dimly Perceived is a nice name for this image, William.
