The hive was dark with something more than night. She was a bee. A bee to make a bishop kick a hole in a stained-glass window.

Thanks, Kris. And I thought no one would notice.

Ah, to be there . . . crisp in the blur. Marvelous, Rick.

Crisp in the blur. I like that, Deb.

It looks like it is trying to repair a rip in a tent. I wish they were that easy to train.

It does look like a rip, Bill. This is a wooden hive, with a small ray of sunlight illuminating a seam. Another example of the superiority of natural light over electronic flash for these images.

I see a bee ripping a hole in it’s universe, glimpsing the light, striving for the Sun’s warmth and power.

Great imagery Denice. I love seeing interpretations of my images like this, especially when different from my own. (Not that this wasn’t exactly what I was thinking.)

I’ve seen German Expressionism, Poetic Realism, noir, neo-noir but never Bee noir. I like it!!

I’m late to the party, but – there is such mystery here. If only we could taste their consciousness, for just a moment, what might it be(e) like?

Light and shadow and mystery, everything I want in my work.
